Second suspect in NYC terror probe due in court

NEW YORK — A man linked to an alleged al-Qaida associate accused of plotting to attack New York with homemade bombs was due in court Saturday as new details emerged about a tirade that prompted investigators to lock him up.

A law enforcement official confirms reports that Adis Medunjanin dialed 911 and ranted in Arabic, “We love death more than you love life,” just before his arrest.

The official was not authorized to discuss the arrest and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Medunjanin was to be arraigned Saturday in federal court in Brooklyn.

The 25-year-old was one of two Queens men arrested early Friday in connection with the investigation of Najibullah Zazi, a Colorado airport driver who pleaded not guilty last year to supporting terrorism.
