Hells Angels VP indicted in Colo. on gun charge

DENVER — Authorities say a leader in the Hells Angels motorcycle gang has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Denver on a firearms charge.

The U.S. attorney’s office said Monday that 44-year-old Richard West of New York, also known as Richard Kearney, was indicted on the charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Authorities say West was arrested last week after he was found with a loaded revolver during a traffic stop.

Authorities say West was wearing a patch identifying him as vice president of the Hells Angels.

West could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted. He is being held in federal custody without bond.
