Police: 2 dead in Stockton shooting that wounded 5

STOCKTON, Calif. — Police are investigating an overnight shooting that left two people dead and five wounded in Stockton, Calif.

Officer Pete Smith says police were called to the shooting after 10 p.m. Friday, and they found seven men had been shot.

Two were pronounced dead at the scene and five were taken to area hospitals.

Smith says the shooting shows signs of being gang-related, but none of the victims was immediately known to have gang connections.

He says police don’t know if more than one shooter was involved. He says police have little other information on the suspect, victims or motive as the investigation continues.
