Ill. trooper testifies at Drew Peterson hearing
JOLIET, Ill. — An Illinois State Police trooper says he was disgusted by the investigation into the death of former police officer Drew Peterson’s third wife.
Master Sgt. Bryan Falat testified Thursday during a hearing to determine what hearsay evidence will be allowed at Peterson’s upcoming trial in the 2004 death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.
Her death was initially ruled accidental but reclassified a homicide after the 2007 disappearance of Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.
Falat had assisted in the initial investigation.
He testified that he told the lead investigator that he thought Drew and Stacy Peterson were lying when they were interviewed.
Peterson has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
