Police: Shots fired at San Diego-area school
CARLSBAD, Calif. — Police say a man suspected of firing a gun at or near a San Diego-area elementary school has been taken into custody after being tackled by bystanders.
Carlsbad police spokesman Fiona Everett says it is unknown if anyone was injured or killed when the man opened fire around noon Friday. She didn’t know how many shots were fired or exactly where, but said there were none fired inside buildings.
Kelly Elementary School has been placed on lockdown.
