2 charged in Ohio real estate agent’s slaying

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Authorities in Ohio have charged two men with killing a real estate agent who was showing a vacant house for sale, the first of two agents killed in a week in the region.

Youngstown Municipal Court says 25-year-old Robert Brooks of Youngstown and 21-year-old Grant Cooper of Hubbard were charged Thursday and are to be arraigned Friday on aggravated murder and other counts.

Brooks and his 27-year-old brother, Paul, have been charged separately with robbing a real estate agent last week in nearby Boardman. They pleaded not guilty Thursday.

In the Kent area 40 miles west, authorities have issued an arrest warrant in the death of an agent found slain early Tuesday in a house he was showing for sale. Authorities don’t think the homicides are related.
