Blagojevich jury on day 11 of deliberations
CHICAGO — Jurors at former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s corruption trial are in their eleventh day trying to reach a verdict.
Court officials have told prosecutors and attorneys to gather at the courthouse Wednesday afternoon for a hearing. Defense attorneys say they’ve been told Judge James Zagel will read a note with a question from jurors.
Since jurors began deliberations, they’ve only sent two notes to the judge. The last was sent on their third day of deliberations. That’s made it hard to glean how discussions are going.
Jurors have worked every weekday, but taken weekends off.
Blagojevich has pleaded not guilty to 24 counts, including charges of trying to sell or trade an appointment to President Barack Obama’s vacated Senate seat.
