FBI makes busts in border drug violence
SAN DIEGO — Federal authorities in San Diego have conducted searches and made arrests involving a drug cartel’s alleged cross-border crimes.
The U.S. attorney’s office has scheduled a news conference to discuss Friday’s operation.
FBI spokesman Darrell Foxworth says the operations were conducted in San Diego. He says many people have been charged in what he described as a cross-border investigation into Mexico. He declined to discuss the specific charges.
U.S. attorney’s spokeswoman Debra Hartman says the investigation is tied to a drug cartel’s alleged activities.
