Man pleads not guilty in Calif. beach house deaths

VENTURA, Calif. — A not guilty plea has been entered on behalf of a 20-year-old man accused of murdering a couple and their unborn child in their Southern California beachfront home.

A public defender for Joshua Graham Packer entered the plea Monday in Ventura County Superior Court.

Packer is accused of three counts of murder in the May 2009 stabbings of Brock Husted and his wife, Davina, who was pregnant.

The couple’s young son and daughter fled the Faria Beach home and ran to a neighbor’s house for help.

Parker was arrested in April. He has been ordered held without bail.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Michael Frawley says prosecutors have not decided whether to seek the death penalty if Packer is convicted.
