Man sought in cop killings wanted in other deaths

TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa police say the man suspected of killing two police officers is also wanted in three other slayings.

Law enforcement officers wearing body armor and carrying assault rifles are in the third day of a manhunt for 24-year-old Dontae Rashawn Morris.

Morris is accused of killing officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab during an early Tuesday morning traffic stop. In one case, WTVT of Tampa reported 21-year-old Derek Anderson was shot and killed outside his family’s apartment on May 18 by someone who tried to steal his backpack.

Police declined to release details on the other two slayings.
