3 northern Va. spy suspects returning to court

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Three Russian spy suspects are scheduled to return to court in Virginia.

Federal authorities arrested Mikhail Semenko, Michael Zottoli and Patricia Mills at their Arlington homes this week and charged them with being foreign agents. They were among 11 people taken into custody as part of the bust.

Semenko, Zottoli and Mills are set to appear before Magistrate Judge Theresa Buchanan in U.S. District Court in Alexandria. At the detention hearing, Buchanan will decide whether they are to remain in custody until future proceedings.

Officials say they expect that the woman and two men will eventually be transferred to New York, where the charges were filed. They say a probable cause hearing must be scheduled within 14 days of the arrest date.
