ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Police say a Pennsylvania man’s gun accidentally discharged, and the bullet struck a woman sleeping in the apartment below him.
An Allentown woman was shot in the leg around 12:30 a.m. Monday while she slept with her child in a first-floor apartment. Police say the bullet went through the floor of a second-floor apartment and the ceiling of woman’s first-floor apartment before striking her.
Police Capt. George Medero says the woman, whose name is not being released, is expected to fully recover.
Medero says the upstairs tenant, Rafael Pequero Campo, is being charged with assault and reckless endangerment. There was not a listed phone number for Campo and he couldn’t be reached for comment.
