Lakehurst Naval Air Station Witnesses Gunfire

LAKEHURST (GaeaTimes.com)- Lakehurst Naval Air Station which has served to be an operational unit of Naval Air Engineering Station witnessed a two hour lock down on Monday morning. It was said that one of the security officials of Lakehurst Naval Air Station heard a gunfire in the morning at the gates of the naval air base.

Following the gunfire, the non commercial gate of Lakehurst Naval Air Station encountered one more incident where a delivery van was stopped at the gates. The security officers suspected the delivery man to be a fraud as he turned up to make the delivery at the non-commercial gate instead of the commercial gate. As the Lakehurst Naval Air Station securities stopped the man and interrogated him further, the driver finally confessed in front of the security officers that he was carrying a firearm namely a 9mm handgun. After that, the Lakehurst Naval Air Station authorities took the man in their custody and filed a report against him for an attempted access to a secured place.

Following the two incidents, the Lakehurst Naval Air Station authorities issued orders to lock down the entire complex of the Lakehurst Naval Air Station at 9.30 am. The Lakehurst Naval Air Station was locked down for a total of two hours after which things returned back to their normal state at around 11 am. After further interrogation, the Lakehurst Naval Air Station authorities came to know that someone had fired the gun at the entrance gates but none was injured. The Lakehurst Naval Air Station officials have declared everything to be normal and regular operations are now being carried on.
