DALLAS (GaeaTimes.com)- Donald Andrew Bess was declared guilty in the sex assault slaying of SMU student Angela Samota. The decision was taken by the the jurors of Dallas County who were of the opinion that Donald Andrew Bess (61) should face a death penalty and nothing less than that. The convict was taken into custody following a DNA match with the SMU (Southern Methodist University) student way back in the year of 2008.
Pat Kirlin who happens to be a lead prosecutor in the case told the jurors that SMU student Angela Samota was sexually assaulted and was stabbed 18 times as the killer put his knife through her lungs and her heart. Ex Dallas Police Senior Virgil Sparks who acted as the lead investigator for the told the prosecutors that the killer was inside the apartment when the SMU student’s boyfriend knocked the door. M.G.F. Gilliland performed an autopsy on the SMU student and confirmed the fact that there had been an intercourse before the girl was killed. He also said that the girl never stood up after the intercourse. The doctor’s statement was further strengthened by forensic serologist Dr. Sarah Williams who performed a test upon the body fluids of the SMU student.
Gynecologist and Obstetrician Dr. Claudia Werner said that there is no doubt that the SMU student was a victim of sexual assault by force. After the intercourse the killer never gave a chance to the SMU student to sit straight or stand up and ran his knife straight through her chest. Later David Spence; a trace evidence supervisor working at the Dallas County crime lab had conducted a blood splatter analysis which reconfirmed the brutality of the murder.
