‘Real Housewives’ star faces DWI charge in NY
SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — “Real Housewives” television reality show star Sonja Morgan faces drunken driving and other charges following her weekend arrest in New York’s Long Island.
Morgan was arrested early Monday in Southampton, about 80 miles east of New York City. She has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. She also is accused of driving without a fastened seat belt, failing to keep right and failing to stop at a stop sign.
Attorney Edward Burke says he intends to “vigorously defend her.”
Morgan is a cast member on the Bravo TV show “The Real Housewives of New York City.”
The show’s website describes Morgan as “a fixture of New York City society, running in social circles that include European royalty and top-notch designers.”
Her next court date is June 20 in Southampton Village Court.
