Iowa star wrestler Montell Marion kicked off team following drunken driving arrest

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa wrestler Montell Marion has been kicked off the team after being charged with drunken driving.

University of Iowa police records show Marion was arrested early Tuesday in Iowa City.

Iowa associate athletic director Fred Mims says Marion was removed from the team because of that arrest and previous violations of the student-athlete code of conduct.

Marion is a Des Moines native. He finished second at 141 pounds in the NCAA Championships as a sophomore last season.
