VIRGINIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Yeardley Love, the highly appreciated athlete of the UVA Lacrosse women’s team breathed her last yesterday. Police officials who were summoned to the room of the 22-year-old girl by one of her roommates have also arrested George Huguely, another UVA Lacrosse player from the boy’s team, charging him with first degree murder. The UVA Lacrosse death has led to a very tense atmosphere inside the University of Virginia. Students who were previously celebrating the success of their UVA Lacrosse men’s team have put an end to all celebrations waiting in anticipation for the next step in the case.

The Virginia police issued a statement in which they said that they were of the opinion that the girl had passed out because of an overdose of alcohol consumption, but there was no mistaking the injuries which were visible on Yeardley Love’s body. Police have not confirmed the reason for the apparent murder, but it is evident that the UVA Lacrosse death has come as a big blow for the students of the University of Virginia.

Reportedly, prime suspect George Huguely was the boyfriend of the 22-year-old Yeardley Love. The girl was a final year student in the University and resided outside the campus in an apartment which she had been sharing with two other girls. The case still being under investigation, police are on the search for a possible reason which may explain the sudden UVA Lacrosse death. Apparently, George Huguely was also involved in one of the sex scandal cases that was reported at the Duke University back in 2006. Although he was not the man charged directly, his comments on the rape case were much publicized.
