Man accused of taking gun into Pittsburgh school
PITTSBURGH — Authorities have filed charges against a man they say entered a Pittsburgh high school with a gun and injured a security guard when both men tumbled through a glass door.
Twenty-three-year-old Aaron Darrand Mohamed was arraigned Wednesday night, hours after he allegedly walked into the Pittsburgh Creative & Performing Arts school with an unloaded handgun.
Police say a student spotted Mohamed and his gun in a restroom and alerted security. Authorities say that’s when the guard intervened and the two men scuffled. School officials say the .38-caliber handgun was not loaded.
Mohamed is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and other counts. He is being held on $100,000 bail, and it was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
