Wash. man charged in ex-wife’s killing at church

SEATTLE — A Washington man accused of shooting his ex-wife to death during a counseling session at a Federal Way church has been charged with first-degree murder.

King County prosecutors filed the charge Friday against 41-year-old Charles Parsons of Lakewood, who is being held on $5 million bail.

Parsons is accused of killing 38-year-old Carol Parsons on Wednesday at Calvary Lutheran Church in the Seattle suburb.

Prosecutors say the couple divorced a year ago and Charles Parsons wanted to reconcile but his ex-wife did not. Authorities say Carol Parsons was shot five times after she told Parsons she would not end a relationship with another man.
