Grand jury indicts 2 in New York terror case

WASHINGTON — A federal grand jury has indicted two men in the foiled New York City subway bomb plot.

Charges unsealed this morning in Brooklyn allege that Zarein Ahmedzay (zah-RAYN’ ah-MIHD’-zay) and Adis Medunjanin (ah-DEES’ meh-doon-YAH’-neen) were involved in the plan to attack the New York subway system in mid-September 2009.

The two are accused of conspiring with Najibullah Zazi (nah-jee-BOO’-lah ZAH’-zee) to use weapons of mass destruction — explosive bombs — to conduct an attack on Manhattan subway lines last September. Zazi has pleaded guilty to federal charges and is cooperating with federal prosecutors.
