Trial ordered for man accused in CA MySpace case

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A man accused of enticing underage girls into sending him nude photos on MySpace has been ordered to stand trial on 135 counts in Southern California.

A judge in Riverside County ordered 32-year-old Joshua Threlkeld to stand trial on 112 counts Tuesday. The judge previously ordered Threlkeld to stand trial on the other 23 counts. Threlkeld is scheduled to be arraigned March 24.

Prosecutors say he posed online as a 13-year-old girl named “Sara” who said she was a model for a photographer named “Josh” and referred the underage victims to him.

Threlkeld allegedly contacted at least 80 victims, ages 11 to 17.

He is also charged with kidnap and aggravated sexual assault involving one of the alleged victims.

Threlkeld faces multiple life sentences if convicted.
