Parents of Ohio church slaying suspect arrested
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Police have arrested the parents of a suspect in the killing of an elderly parishioner in a church parking lot, alleging the couple threatened to kill a witness.
Youngstown police arrested 46-year-old John Houser and 48-year-old Frances Cianciola Friday.
They are the parents of 18-year-old Jamar Houser. He’s in jail on a $3 million bond on charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.
Jamar Houser was arrested Jan. 29 in connection with the shooting death six days earlier of Angeline Fimognari (fihm-eh-NAHR’-ee).
Investigators say the 80-year-old woman was shot in the head in her car during a robbery at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church.
Houser’s parents are being held in the Mahoning County Justice Center which did not list an attorney for them.
