Delaware wants to freeze assets of accused doctor

DOVER, Del. — Delaware prosecutors are moving to freeze the assets of a pediatrician suspected of sexually assaulting several patients.

A spokesman for Attorney General Beau Biden says his office filed a civil racketeering lawsuit late Wednesday against Dr. Earl Bradley.

The lawsuit is intended to protect the doctor’s personal assets for potential victims. State law allows the Department of Justice to put a lien on those assets and seek forfeiture.

Officials plan to ask that the civil lawsuit be put on hold pending resolution of the criminal case against Bradley.

Bradley is being held in lieu of $2.9 million bail on charges of sexually assaulting several patients at his office last year.
