Death of 2-year-old NYC boy is ruled a homicide
NEW YORK — The death of a 2-year-old New York City boy who was found unconscious in his mother’s apartment has been ruled a homicide.
Police said Saturday that they are questioning the mother and her boyfriend, though no charges have been filed.
Police say Aiyden Davis was found unresponsive inside the Brooklyn apartment at about 10:30 p.m. Friday after a 911 call reporting an assault. The boy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A spokeswoman for the medical examiner says the cause of death was blunt impact injuries to his head, torso and extremities. She says the boy also had liver laceration and internal bleeding.
A spokesman for Administration for Children’s Services says the agency is investigating.
