Court filing: Stripper killed during drug feud

DETROIT — Attorneys for the city of Detroit say the 2003 slaying of a stripper resulted from a drug feud and wasn’t connected to a rumored wild party involving ex-mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.

The Detroit Free Press reported Thursday that the city claimed in a federal court filing that Tamara Greene was shot to death in a car outside her home during a clash of rival dealers.

The filing says police know who shot Greene, but don’t have enough evidence to file charges. It was initially posted on an online docket, but then sealed.

The city asked a judge to dismiss a civil suit filed on behalf of Greene’s children that accuses Kilpatrick and other officials of stifling the investigation into her murder. She’s believed by some to have performed at the never-proven 2002 party at the mayor’s official residence.
