LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles police say a man and a teenager were injured in a shooting down the block from a high school.
Police spokesman Gregory Baek says a person in a red car fired multiple shots Wednesday afternoon near Crenshaw High School.
Baek says the apparent intended victim, a 19-year-old man, was struck in the chest and hospitalized in serious condition. He is not a student.
A 17-year-old male student was hit in the hand and was treated at the scene.
A Los Angeles Unified School District spokesperson says the campus was locked down immediately following the shooting, but students are being dismissed at the normal time.
