Suspected burglar found after fall through ceiling
PICO RIVERA, Calif. — A man fell through the ceiling of a Pico Rivera shop on Saturday, landing in the arms of sheriff’s deputies who were searching for the suspected burglar of three businesses.
The Whittier Daily News reports that 23-year-old Jose Parada has been booked on suspicion of burglary after Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglar alarm at William’s Boots at 7 a.m.
County sheriff Sgt. Debbie Gallego says a responding deputy saw someone inside nearby De La Cruz Jewelry, and called in a K-9 unit for a search.
Deputies sprayed pepper spray in the attic of the store shortly before Parada fell through the ceiling. A nearby antique store was also burglarized.
Parada is being held in lieu of $20,5000 bail. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday.
