Autopsy under way on body found in N. Calif. home
HERCULES, Calif. — An autopsy is under way on an unidentified body discovered in the same Northern California home where a 73-year-old man was found dead.
Police spokeswoman Doreen Mathews says the body was found Thursday after police and the FBI returned to the home where homicide victim Ricardo Sales was discovered.
Authorities have been looking for Sales’ son, 35-year-old Frederick Sales, who’s been missing for more than two weeks.
Efren Valdemoro is a suspect in the deaths of his girlfriend Cindy Tran and Ricardo Sales and the disappearance of Frederick Sales.
Valdemoro was shot and killed by officers following a chase on Aug. 31. Tran’s body was found in the car.
Mathews says the latest body was found in a downstairs closet but gave no explanation why it was not discovered earlier.

HERCULES, Calif. (AP) — Authorities have found another body inside the Northern California home where a 73-year-old man was found bludgeoned to death last month.
A Hercules police spokesman says investigators are gathering evidence and have not yet determined the identity of the body found Thursday. Ricardo Sales was found dead in the home on Aug. 28. His son, Frederick Sales, also has been missing.
Police have been searching a nearby landfill over concerns that Frederick Sales could be the fifth victim of murder suspect Efren Valdemoro. Valdemoro was shot and killed by officers after a high-speed chase last month. After the shooting, officers found the body of his girlfriend, Cindy Tran, in his car.
Police are also investigating a possible link in the discovery of the bodies of two women found in a Vallejo house.
