Police search landfill for slain man’s missing son
PITTSBURG, Calif. — Authorities are searching a Northern California landfill for signs of a missing man whose father was killed last week.
Police believe 35-year-old Frederick Sales could be the fifth victim of Efren Valdemoro, who was shot and killed by officers Tuesday night.
Valdemoro had been wanted in the beating death of 73-year-old Ricardo Sales in Hercules. Officers who had the deadly confrontation with Valdemoro in a Richmond strip mall found the body of his girlfriend in his car.
Police also are investigating his connection to two women whose decomposing bodies were found in a Vallejo house.
The Saleses lived in the home of Valdemoro’s girlfriend and were recently seen fighting with him.
Police have not said if they have conclusive evidence that Frederick Sales is dead.
