Requiem Mass held for 7 Slovak shooting victims

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia — A Roman Catholic bishop is celebrating a Requiem Mass in the Slovak capital of Bratislava in memory of seven people killed when a gunman went on a shooting spree.

Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radicova and other government officials joined relatives and other worshippers in attending the Mass held by Bishop Stanislav Zvolensky at St. Martin Cathedral.

A heavily armed man killed seven people including a 12-year-old boy and wounded 15 others in a rundown district of Bratislava on Monday before committing suicide. The man was identified by police as Lubomir Harman, 48, but his motives remain unknown.

Eight people remained in the hospital Wednesday with one in very serious condition.
