Beer theft suspect sprays insecticide at reporters

ENFIELD, Conn. — A video shows two Connecticut journalists outside court being sprayed with insecticide by a man accused of accepting stolen beer from the gunman in a deadly shooting.

Sean Quail is seen spraying a reporter and cameraman from Fox affiliate WTIC-TV on Tuesday outside Enfield Superior Court, where Quail’s wife appeared in the same theft case.

Neither journalist was seriously hurt.

The 33-year-old Quail was ordered held on $25,000 bail on new charges including carrying a dangerous weapon and assault.

Authorities say Sean and Christy Quail accepted beer stolen by Omar Thornton from Hartford Distributors in Manchester. Thornton fatally shot eight workers, then himself, after being forced to resign for stealing.
