3 die in shooting at Monessen apartments
MONESSEN, Pa. — Three people are dead following a burst of gunfire outside an apartment complex in western Pennsylvania.
Authorities say the violence erupted around 9 p.m. Sunday night near Westgate Manor, a high-rise senior citizen complex in Monessen, about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh.
Details of the violence are still sketchy but the Westmoreland County 911 office says it took three or four calls of about a person walking into a pavilion outside the complex and opening fire.
Authorities did not say whether the victims were residents of the complex or provide any information about an attacker, including if anyone had been apprehended.
A report by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says identities of the dead could not be immediately determined.
