Caroline Giuliani Arrested For Shop Lifting

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- Caroline Giuliani, the daughter of former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani was arrested yesterday on the suspicion of shoplifting. Police Bureau Chief said in his statement that Caroline Giuliani was caught on video monitoring at an Upper East Side Sephora skincare and makeup store. However, the shop owners refused to comment on the whole incident and decided not to press charges.
Caroline Giuliani was reportedly taken out of the store in handcuffs and was taken to custody. Police said that Caroline Giuliani was stopped by store security and a salesperson of the shop who observed her stealing cosmetics. The officials of the shop then called police but did not want to press charges on her after knowing her identity. The media reports that she left the police station after two hours with her mother Donna Hanover. The Manhattan District Attorney Office refused to comment whether she will be arraigned. Mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s spokesperson, however, issued a statement on behalf of the Mayor asking the media to respect the privacy of her daughter as the matter is “personal”.
Caroline Giuliani was accused of taking five items from the store which reportedly valued around $100. Her lawyer Michael Bachner addressed Caroline Giuliani as a lovely young woman but declined to comment on the matter as he felt it was “inappropriate” to comment while the case is in “legal process.” However, Detective Martin Speechley told a reputed media source that Caroline Giuliani is expected to be charged with “petit larceny” which he calls as a police term for stealing goods in a shop less than $500.
