TOMS RIVER, NEW JERSEY (GaeaTimes.com)- The man who was responsible for the death of Alexis Cohen, the former contestant of “American Idol” who was killed from injuries sustained in a road accident, has been indicted. On Thursday, an Ocean County grand jury indicted the 24 year old man, Daniel J. Bark hailing from New Jersey in the hit-and-run case that claimed the life of the budding singer.

The jury handed out a four count indictment to Daniel J. Bark and levied multiple charges against him that include aggravated manslaughter, evading police authorities, death by auto and knowingly leaving the scene of the accident which eventually resulted in the death of the 25-year-old musical aspirant. The police authorities have revealed that at the time when the hit-and-run accident took place last year, they were already searching for him.

Alexis Cohen passed away after she received severe injuries to her head and torso in the accident that took place on July 25, 2009. Daniel J. Bark who was behind the wheels of the vehicle when it hit the aspiring musical artist, was detained by the police authorities the next day and was charged with drunken driving. Meanwhile, Alexis Cohen gained extensive popularity during the seventh and eight season of the musical reality series “American Idol” despite the fact that she never went ahead the audition rounds, due to her furious tirade against the judges who showed her the door.
