Fla. man in officer deaths charged in 4 killings

TAMPA, Fla. — A man already facing charges in the shooting deaths of two Tampa police officers and another man now faces a charge in a fourth killing.

The suspect, 24-year-old Dontae Morris, was charged with first-degree murder Friday in last month’s shooting death of 25-year-old Harold Wright. Police say the shooting appeared to be a drug-related robbery.

Morris has also been charged in the killings of Tampa police officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab during a traffic stop June 29. And he was charged with another count of first-degree murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Derek Anderson in May.

Police say Anderson was killed outside his family’s Tampa apartment after detectives believe Morris tried to take Anderson’s backpack.
