Fla. officer killings suspect charged in 3rd death
TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa police say a man suspected of killing two police officers has been charged in a third slaying.
Dontae Morris is to make his first court appearance Saturday after turning himself in Friday evening.
Morris is charged with two counts of murder in the shooting deaths this week of Tampa officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab during a routine traffic stop.
The Tampa police public information office says the 24-year-old convicted felon has also been charged with murder in the May shooting death of a man outside his Tampa apartment.
A massive manhunt was conducted following the officers’ deaths Tuesday morning. A statement from police says detectives began negotiations with an associate of Morris on Thursday that led to his surrender the next night.
