Dontae Morris Arrested

TAMPA, FLORIDA (GaeaTimes.com)- Dontae Morris, the man who is suspected to have killed two officers of the Tampa police department was detained by the authorities after he surrendered himself on Friday night. The news that the 24 year old convicted felon turned himself at a police station was confirmed by the officials of Tampa police department in a press conference that was organized late last night.
A visibly relieved Police Chief Jane Castor addressed the media on Friday night and added that hopefully the arrest of Dontae Morris brings some kind of closure to the families of the victims, more importantly as the funerals of the deceased officers is scheduled to begin just few hours later. According to reports, at around 2 a.m. the suspected cop killer was led from the police headquarters to a patrol car and was taken to the Hillsborough County Jail, where he is being presently held. Along with Dontae Morris, the police chief also revealed that 22 year old Cortnee Brantly had also been taken into custody as she is believed to be the woman who was behind the wheels of the car when the shooting took place. Cortnee Brantly is said to have been questioned by the authorities after Tuesday’s shooting incident but was not detained by the cops then.
Dontae Morris is suspected to have been responsible for shooting two police officers Jeffrey Kocab and David Curtis on Tuesday morning at a traffic stop near downtown Tampa. Although the officers were immediately rushed to a medical facility, both of them died later in the hospital. Since the incident, officials of the Tampa police department had undertaken a vigorous search for the culprit.
