Ex-Giants draft pick sentenced on drug, gun charge
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A former NFL draft pick has been sentenced to at least 21 months in prison on drug and gun possession charges in Pennsylvania.
Twenty-nine-year-old Isaac “Ike” Hilton Jr. was sentenced Tuesday in Wilkes-Barre (WILKS’-behr-ee). Hilton was picked in the seventh round of the 2004 draft by the New York Giants and had brief stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers.
Police say the former defensive lineman had 70 bags of marijuana and a 12-gauge shotgun when authorities raided his apartment in Kingston. He pleaded guilty in May to possession with intent to deliver and a firearms charge.
After his NFL career, Hilton spent time with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League and with arena and semipro teams in Pennsylvania.
