2 men, boy stabbed to death in remote Maine town

AMITY, Maine — Police in Maine say two men and a young boy were stabbed to death in a town near the Canadian border and that a pickup truck belonging to one of the victims is missing.

Police say the bodies were discovered by a relative at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the home near the town of Amity.

They say the victims were a 55-year-old man and his 10-year-old son, along with a 30-year-old man who was a friend of the father’s.

Police are gathering evidence and interviewing family and friends. They also are looking for the missing Ford F-150 pickup. State police spokesman Steve McCausland says investigators want to talk to the person driving the truck and that the person is considered dangerous.

Amity is about 200 miles northeast of Portland and less than five miles from the Canadian border.
