Wounded tot, dead adults found at Calif. home

ANAHEIM, Calif. — A 5-year-old boy’s 911 call brought police to a Southern California home where they found a 3-year-old boy alive but with a gunshot wound to the chest, and the bodies of a man and a woman.

Anaheim police say the shootings happened late Sunday but weren’t discovered until midmorning Monday, when the 5-year-old called 911.

Sgt. Tim Schmidt says the wounded 3-year-old was found hiding in the backyard.

The older boy had been inside the house with his dead parents for 12 hours. He told police his father had tried to kill him and he couldn’t find his little brother.

The 3-year-old was hospitalized in serious condition. There was no indication the 5-year-old was hurt.
