Gymnast Shawn Johnson to testify in stalking case

LOS ANGELES — Shawn Johnson is about to come face-to-face with a man prosecutors say harbored a dangerous obsession to meet and marry the Olympic gold medalist.

Johnson is scheduled to testify against accused stalker Robert O’Ryan on Thursday morning. The Florida man is charged with breaking on to the studio lot where “Dancing with the Stars” is filmed in an attempt to meet Johnson.

The 18-year-old gymnast won her season of the popular reality competition last year.

Security stopped O’Ryan from meeting Johnson last March. After his arrest, authorities found two loaded guns, a bulletproof vest and other weapons in his car.

If convicted of felony stalking and burglary charges, O’Ryan faces nearly four years in prison. He has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
