Boston (GaeaTimes.com)- According to reports, the inquest into the 1986 shooting case of Amy Bishop in which she was accused of shooting at her brother Seth Bishop, has been handed over to a grand jury that will look into the criminal charges that have been brought against Amy Bishop. The news has been revealed to media sources by retired Braintree Police chief John Polio, who had mentioned that he along with his wife have been asked to appear in the Norfolk Superior Court next week to testify for the 1986 shooting case against Amy Bishop. John Polio and his wife worked in the police department in an administrative position back in 1986 when Amy Bishop fired at her brother Seth Bishop’s chest and then fled from her home.

Amy Bishop was released from police custody back in 1986 after the reports given to the prosecutors by the state police concluded that Amy Bishop had accidentally shot at her brother and that there was nothing intentional. However, the case was renewed and brought to limelight after Amy Bishop was charged with the death of three professors at whom she shot at the University of Alabama-Huntsville on Feb 12. Prior to the grand jury hearing the case, a closed-door inquest was conducted by a Quincy District Court judge recently.

Reports claim that new evidences have surfaced against Amy Bishop which she had denied. Prosecutors have said that the state police did not disclose all the facts about the 1986 affair. They allegedly did mention to the district Attorney’s office that after Amy Bishop shot her brother she also tried to seize a gateway car at gunpoint. However, John Polio said to media sources that he could not imagine that there was any kind of cover-up done by the police.
