Authorities say sheriff’s deputy shoots in-laws
GIG HARBOR, Wash. — Authorities in Washington state say a sheriff’s deputy has shot his in-laws and barricaded himself in a home with his children.
Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said Friday night that the deputy’s mother-in-law has been airlifted from Gig Harbor to a Seattle medical center. Troyer says the father-in-law’s condition is unknown.
It wasn’t immediately clear how many children are involved.
Troyer says the deputy had been on medical light duty for a year and a half and was cleared to come back to work three months ago.
