NYer pleads not guilty to murder in Harvard death
WOBURN, Mass. — One of three New York City men charged in a fatal shooting last year at a Harvard University dormitory is now facing a murder count.
Jason Aquino was held without bail after pleading not guilty Tuesday to charges of murder, armed robbery and intimidation of a juror.
He had previously been arraigned on charges including being an accessory after armed robbery. He was indicted on the upgraded charges in March. His lawyer declined to comment Wednesday.
Jabrai (juh-BRY’) Jordan Copney and Blayn Jiggetts have pleaded not guilty to murder in the May 2009 shooting of Justin Cosby, of Cambridge.
Authorities say the three men intended to rob Cosby of marijuana and cash. None was a Harvard student.
Copney’s girlfriend, former Harvard student Brittany Smith of New York City, has pleaded not guilty to being an accessory.
