4 men indicted in attack on Ohio homeless man
CINCINNATI — An Ohio grand jury has indicted three soldiers and another man on felonious assault charges in the beating of a homeless man who was sleeping under a Cincinnati bridge.
Indicted Thursday in Hamilton County were 24-year-old Michael Hesson, of Cincinnati; 24-year-old Pvt. Riley Feller; 25-year-old Spc. Travis Condor; and 21-year-old Matthew MacMurtrie. Prosecutors say Feller is stationed at Fort Knox, Ky., and that Condor and MacMurtrie are stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C.
Prosecutors say 52-year-old John Johnson was hit with a baseball bat and pipe on April 10. They say the assailants just wanted to “kick somebody’s butt.”
Calls to Feller’s and Hesson’s attorneys were not returned. It could not be immediately determined if the others have attorneys.
