Ohio man convicted of wife’s murder, dismemberment
CINCINNATI — An Ohio man has been convicted of killing his wife and dismembering her at their suburban Cincinnati home.
Minutes after listening to closing arguments Tuesday, Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge John West announced guilty verdicts for 31-year-old John Strutz on one count of murder, two counts of tampering with evidence and one count of abuse of a corpse.
Strutz had taken the stand Monday and denied he killed 28-year-old Kristan Strutz last August.
His attorney had contended that the prosecution’s case was all circumstantial. Prosecutors say Strutz cut up the body and tried to dispose of it in garbage bags.
Strutz will be sentenced later. He faces a maximum potential sentence of life in prison.
