Maoists attack construction companies, torch six trucks in Bihar

Maoists attacked two construction companies engaged in road construction works and torched over a dozen trucks and machines late Thursday night in Bihar, police said today.

Police said the Maoists attacked the companies in Vaishali and Aurangabad districts of Bihar to protest operation against them.

Both the companies are constructing roads under the Prime Minister Road Construction Scheme.

Police said dozens of rebels attacked office of a road construction company in Vaishali district and burnt at least five trucks and JCB machines parked at the site.

They left behind a leaflet before fleeing the scene. The leaflet has protested operation Green Hunt against them

Another incident of attack on road construction company was reported from Aurangabad district where the rebels torched three trucks near Sima village under Pauthu police station.

“Maoists are attacking the road companies out of sheer desperation”, the local district superintendent of police, Aurangabad, Nishant Tiwari told reporters today.
