July trial set for former basketball player Leary
FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Former Indiana University basketball player Todd Leary still stand trial July 20 on charges stemming from an ex-business partner’s multimillion-dollar fraud scheme.
Prosecutors say Leary once worked for a title insurance broker who pleaded guilty to several charges in a $2.7 million real estate fraud scheme. Leary faces 17 felony charges, including conspiracy to commit misappropriation and theft.
The most serious charge carries a possible sentence of four to 20 years in prison.
Leary played for Indiana during 1989-94 and was working as an analyst for IU’s radio broadcasts when he was arrested in February.
