Police: Man tells attorney he killed 2

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It wasn’t the kind of call police get very often — a lawyer informing them a man walked into her office and told her he had killed two people the previous day and was turning himself in. He also told the attorney where the bodies could be found.

A criminal complaint says attorney Lauren Oliveros called police, who sent two detectives to her office. While she was arranging Monday to get her client to police headquarters, a dispatcher sent officers to check the address he had given.

One officer peaking through the front window spotted two bodies on the floor.

The detectives promptly arrested 37-year-old Ralph Montoya, who now faces two counts of murder in the deaths of his former girlfriend and her new boyfriend.
