VIENNA — A man says he was abused by a nun while a child — the first such accusation amid widening allegations of sexual misdeeds leveled against Austria’s Roman Catholic church.

Salzburg church officials revealing the allegations Friday did not name the alleged victim. They said the man complained to them of being abused by a nun, a priest and several monks between 1965 and 1972.

There has been a string of abuse allegations recently in Austria.

On Wednesday, a priest in the eastern Austrian province of Burgenland resigned after a report surfaced alleging that he sexually abused or molested up to 20 children and youths in the 1970s and 1980s.
